🎵 Biography
One of the eldest angels, Sandalphon is the second-in-command of the Heavenly Host, leading the Seraphim and reporting directly to Michael in times of war. In times of peace, he is found either guarding the throne of his Father, composing for one of the many concerts he holds in Heaven, or teaching his siblings how to play, sing, or fight. He takes pride in the fact that anything an angel knows about music was taught to them by him.The war in Heaven brought a momentary halt to Sandalphon’s blissful existence. Having been incredibly close with Lucifer as a fledgling, he found it difficult to turn his back on one brother to fight beside another. After the fighting was finished and there was a clear victor, Sandalphon went to his Father to argue for a more relaxed sentence for Lucifer out of love for his brother (and his own overwhelming hubris). God would have none of it and punished Sandalphon by throwing him out of Heaven to live one full human life.Sandalphon has little to no recollection of his time on earth as the Prophet Elijah, but must attend all Passover Seders (he splits his being to do so) and all Bris due to his comments to God on the subject of the Covenant, nonetheless.For centuries, Sandalphon traveled the world, seeking out the brightest and most talented musicians to tutor, just as had done with his siblings in Heaven. His past charges include King David, Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Frédéric Chopin.Sandalphon has taken up residence in New York in hopes of finding someone new to teach.
